The CBI Ghana plant is the most modern cement grinding plant in Ghana. Our  state-of-the-art cement and concrete laboratories perform chemical and physical analyses of cement and concrete products in accordance with GS 1118:2016 standards. 

Our advanced technologies for palletizing and automatic packing, allow us to load 42-ton trucks in under 20 minutes. The plant was built between June 2017 and December 2018 at a cost of $50 million.

Plant Expansion

In order to meet Ghanaian builders’ growing demand for high-quality and high-value cement solutions, we have invested a further $30 million to expand the production capacity of our cement grinding plant. By Q4 2023, CBI Ghana will produce 1Mt per annum, 67% more cement than we do today.

The World’s Largest Calcined Clay Cement Plant

In April 2022, we signed a contract to construct the world’s largest Limestone Calcined Clay Cement plant, a 405,000-ton-per-annum plant at the Tema Free Zones Enclave. The plant will use new technology to substitute 20% of clinker, the raw material used to make cement, with environmentally-friendly clay from Ghana. Learn more
